Cover Page Progress 5

Since my last post I've now added the final cover line to the cover page. This cover line is about a reality star becoming a film star. I chose this cover line because it should attract a younger audience.

Since my last post I've now added the next cover line to my cover. I used a blue background on the font to represent the River Tyne.

I have now added the first cover line to my page, alongside that I've changed the colour of the masthead from black to green. I chose green because it will have connotations of the Tyne Bridge as they're both the same colour.

Since my last post I've included an advert to feature on the cover page. When looking into adverts I've noticed that they are either local businesses or national businesses focussing on the North East (e.g. Virgin Trains), for that reason I have created an advert for EasyJet promoting flights to holiday destinations.

Articles: Inverted Triangle

The Inverted Triangle is a technique used by journalists when writing an article. It is a technique that I will also use when I write my Articles.

Articles: Main Article

My main Article will relate to the one on my Cover page. as my two sub articles are about crime I've decided to base my main article around an accomplishment. I've decided to write an article based around the youngest world record winner from Gateshead. I will talk about how she got the record long with a Q and A talking about her life. Many news stories focus on how the life was negative and turned it around I will also show this in my article.

As I want to make my newspaper realistic I will follow the trend of having numerous articles on my page 2. When looking on the Chronicle website there was an article about a man who was convicted for an act of Revenge Porn, for that reason I have decided to base my second article around that.

While researching I've noticed that most local newspapers have more than one article on page 2. these are  normally two sub articles as well as the main cover article. As I want to make my work more realistic I will also do this.

My first sub article will be based on how a singer from the Newcastle area would've had a life of drugs and crime if she wasn't spotted by her record label. i based this article from an article from The Chronicle.
